Lauri Biddick holds a Real Estate license in the state of Minnesota, USA as well as a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation. Lauri has also been a Co-Owner of an Exit Realty Corp International franchise since 2006. She also chaired the International council of the Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors in 2008. An avid world traveler, Lauri has visited all but one continent on the globe. She has hosted foreign exchange students from multiple countries & she is an overseas Real Estate investor herself.
Todd Willson has an educational background at the University of Minnesota in foreign politics. His International business experience includes 12 years in the Import/Export indistry with Polaris Industries, Medtronic, Inc & Canadian Pacific. Todd gained his Real Estate license in Minnesota in 2001 and joined Abroad Knowledge, LLC as a partner in 2006. Todd enjoys working in the International arena and recognizes the potential of growing markets worldwide.

Foreign to Foreign 1031 Exchanges
"Can I purchase foreign properties for Exchange?"
Property within the United States must be exchanged for property within the United States. The IRS code allows foreign property outside the United States to be exchanged for foreign property, but not with property within the United States. THE PROCESS WILL BE THE SAME !!
The United States, for purposes of ยง1031, includes the U.S. Virgin Islands, if you are doing business there.
This sizzling foreign real estate market offers considerable real estate opportunities and specialized tools like the 1031 Foreign Exchange. Because the U.S. capital gains tax is still applicable to foreign properties owned by U.S. taxpayers, a 1031 Foreign Exchange is an excellent tool for real estate investors to utilize.
Foreign exchanges are applicable to U.S. taxpayers who are selling and buying investment property located outside of the United States. For example, if a taxpayer sells investment property in Canada and acquires investment property in Mexico, the taxpayer can defer the capital gains tax on the Canadian property. All of the normal rules and regulations of a standard, domestic 1031 Exchange apply to foreign exchanges.
